26 of 60 headlines carry the outlet's own picture, credited in its feed. Of the rest, 8 carry a picture whose feed names no owner, which is not drawn; 26 carry no picture in their feed. A picture is drawn on a card; the rows under the cards carry none. Whether this site may show another outlet’s picture is not settled; until it is, a picture is drawn only where the outlet’s feed names who owns it, and that name is printed on the card.

How this is computed

The filter reads the headline only, never the piece. An item is taken off as another sport’s when the outlet’s own link files it under another sport, or when its headline names another league and does not name this one; a headline that names no league is kept. It is taken off as a promotion or a pick when its headline matches one of the named rules below. Odds, lines and previews are kept: a line is a price, and this site is built on prices.

Dropped items are counted here, not listed: the list, with the rule that fired for each, is served at /nfl/news/feed.

The outlets

Every outlet on this page, the feed it publishes, and what the last read of it found. An outlet goes on this list only if it publishes a feed.

Names in the headlines

16 of 60 headlines name a player, and 39 name a team. 588 of the 597 players with a 2026 page can be tagged; 9 share a name with someone else in the record and are never tagged.

Teammates' usage when a tagged player has been absent: coming once the analytics export publishes the vacancy metric.

How this is computed

A tag means the headline contains that name, in full and capitalised as written. It says nothing about what the story is: no headline is read as an injury, a trade or anything else, and nothing on this page is inferred from its words.

Only full names are matched, never a surname or a nickname. Initials are collapsed, so “A.J. Brown” and “AJ Brown” are one name. A name that two people in the record share (every player this site has carried, and everyone on a current roster) is not matched; where a suffix separates them, only the suffixed form is. A player is not tagged when the headline names teams unless one of them is his. Teams match on their full name, or on the name’s last word where no other team shares it.

The usage beside a player is this site’s own record: his snap and target share for the 2026 season on his current team, as the roster publishes it, through week 7. Headlines naming the same player, or the same two or more teams, within six hours are listed under the first of them.

An outlet’s item links out rather than reproducing the piece: the headline is the outlet’s own, as its feed titles it, and its name sits beside it. Another sport’s stories are taken off the list, and so are sportsbook promotions and betting picks: this site is not a sportsbook and accepts no wagers.
